Activate Consulting is a Melbourne-based strategic communications and engagement consultancy that helps organisations build productive relationships.


They provide strategic expertise on communications planning and delivery; media relations and advocacy; communications strategy, branding and marketing; digital and online strategy, content and engagement; community engagement planning, strategy and delivery; and stakeholder analysis.


Under the Activate banner, Director Sarah Bishop has extensive experience coordinating and leading a team of expert sub-contractors and consultants to deliver a wide range of communications, marketing, online and engagement projects. Each team is composed to respond to the unique requirements of the project, ensuring the right skills and experience is on-hand.


Established in February 2014, Activate Consulting has delivered communications, marketing and engagement projects for:

  • Local Government: Cities of Kingston, Bayside, Glen Eira, Wyndham, Whittlesea, Maroondah, Banyule, Moonee Valley, Casey, Darebin, Yarra, Knox; the Shires of Bega Valley and Mornington Peninsula; and the Borough of Queenscliffe.

  • State Government: DPC (Systems Reform), Small Business Victoria, DEDJTR (Agriculture Policy) and DEDJTR (Economic Development, Employment and Innovation Executive Group).

Cochrane Research Solutions is a specialist consultancy that provides ‘end-to-end’ research advisory services to predominantly the Victorian local government sector.


They create and execute best practice engagement techniques, data gathering and analysis approaches which result in meaningful community consultation outcomes and informed evidence-based planning and decision-making.


Cochrane Research Solutions has led or provided advisory services for social research projects with organisations including:

  • Local Government: Bayside, Darebin, Frankston, Glen Eira, Kingston, Mornington Peninsula, Port Phillip, Stonnington, Whittlesea (and Bathurst Regional Council in NSW)

  • State Government: CityLink/Transurban and Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources/Level Crossing Removal Authority.





Wayfarer Consulting was established in 2012 by Helen Jennings.


Prior to establishing Wayfarer Consulting Helen worked for local government for 20 years in a range of portfolios including, sustainable transport, neighbourhood planning, community engagement and service planning.


Helen also has experience in mangaging and running a range of family and children services including the children’s services department at the City of Whittlesea  and adventrue playgrounds in the City of Port Phillip.


Wayfarer Consulting work with a range of government and non government organisations assisting with social planning, community engagement, facilitation and the development of plans and strategys.
